  1. Maya Angelou's poems
    *Equality
1.The best metaphor:"You declare you see me dimly through a glass which will not shine" because,I consider that the person that is dimly it will be dificult to continue his/her life in the correct way so,that person will not shine in the future;it will not find the success in the life.

*I know why the caged bird sings
2.The best personification:"The free bird thinks of another breeze but,a caged BIRD stands of the grave of dreams".I consider these frases as personification because, through the different lives of two birds can show us an example about a reality that we can have in some moments in our lives.

    *Life doesn't frighten me
3.My favorite rhyme: I found it in this poem because, there are words with a similar sound in the lines so, I can saw approximate rhyme in those lines. Also Couple because,in this poem there are consecutives lines that have same sound.

    * Still I rise
    4. The poem with the best theme and message for my life: it was this because, show a person with a persevering attitude though this person has had difficulties in the life she continue her way. There are people that wish that, we suffer the worst things but,we need to rise every day it doesn't matter the situations that the life present us.

  3. ✅Metaphor:"I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS"-Poem by Maya Angelou
I think that most part of this poem is a metaphor specially with the Caged Bird which symbolized those that don't have freedom for example it could be anyone who is going through difficulties or maybe a slave because Maya Angelou was a black African American woman and back then black people we slaves they had no freedom. In the second stanza describes "a caged bird which wings are clipped and feet was tied, so he opens his throat to sing". The caged bird freedom is symbolized by his beautiful song.

✅Personification:"I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS"-Poem by Maya Angelou
"But a bird stands on the grave of dreams" this part of the poem is a very powerful personification because we can see how the caged bird dreams dies.

    ✅Best Rhyme
My best rhyme would have to be "Phenomenal woman, what I like about this poem is not only the words but also rhyme. On the end of every sentence in each stanza has sounds of words which makes the poem sound perfectly beautiful like in the first stanza "Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.I'm not cute to suit a fashion model's size. But when I start to tell them they think I'm telling lies".

✅Best theme and message for own life
    "Phenomenal woman"-poem by Maya Angelou
This poem is the theme and message for my life because it describes a powerful, fairless and must of all confident superwoman. Who is comfortable with being herself. It shows that she has a very good self-esteem.this really one of my favorite and it think it decribes me I see myself in the future has this phenomenal woman in the future.

  4. 1. Best Metaphor:
"Phenomenal Woman". She writes in the second stanza, " Them they swarm around me/ a hive of honey bees". It refers to how the swarm of men have huddle around her as she enters the room. This might be similar as a swarm of bees would do to a flower.

    2. Best Personification:
"I know know why the caged bird sings". I found an interesting personification in this poem, "His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream". It is saying that while the caged bird may seem joyous on the outside his true feelings aren't the same as he is being seen.

    3. Favorite Rhyme:
    "Still I Rise" 6 stanza
"You may shoot me with your words/ You may cut me with your eyes/ You may kill me with your hatefulness/ But still, like air, I'll rise.

    4. Best theme and message for own life:
My favorite theme was in poem "Phenomenal Woman" because it's a personal poem. It shows a strong and confident woman who isn't afraid of being herself. The message this empowering poem brings to my life and not only mine but to most of women is to have self confidence and not being ashamed of the woman I am. I don't have to impress anyone, just be me and be glad of the phenomenal woman I am.

  5. Maya Angelou's Poetry

    1)Phenomenal Woman
*The best Metaphor:"Then they swarm around me,A hive of honey bees",as soon as she walks into the room the man around her so,they circulate her and she becomes the centre attention because she is a phenomenal woman.Bees are the man and she is the hive.
Another one is "It's the fire in my eyes: she has a lot of passion within her.

2)I know why the caged bird sings
The best personification it is this poem because is more clear for example to understand better the element.Caged means for me racism and bird(people).
"His wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing".This one is reaffirming the idea that people open his mouth to scream for Freedom and to express themself.

    3)Life Doesn't frighten Me.
My Favourite rhyme: The rhyme makes the poem interesting at the time when we are reasons and also is easy to memorize. All the stanzas of this poem have repetition of similar sounding for example: I go boo
    Make them shoo
    I make fun
    Way they run.

4)The poem with the best theme "STILL I RISE".
This poem is saying, though I will go through many trials and tribulations in my life but, I'll have to continue to grow and I do not let anything bring me down I just have to rise. I like the phrase I'll Rise because I'm never have to give up everything depends on the power of ourself.

  6. 1.The best metaphor: is in the poem Still I rise "I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide " in my opinion this is the best metaphor because compare to a woman who is like the ocean, free, leaping, dynamic and wide.
    2. The best personification is "he names the sky his own" in thw poem"I know why the caged Bird sing". It says about a Bird which names the sky his own, however the birds can't talk, so this represents the personification.

    3. Your favorite rhyme: I like the rhyme of this poem " Life Doesn't Frighten Me" all its endings has an exact rhyme, that make the poem so interesting and easy to read.

4.The poem with the best theme: is "Still I rise "
This poem has an excellent message for all the women. In my case as woman I like it because this poem shows me that it doesn't matter how many obstacles I will have in my life if I have a positive acctitud to overcome because I will never give up. Always I rise! Until reach my goals.

  7. When I Think About Myself
    Best Metaphor:
    "A dance that's walked
    A song that's spoke"
I think is when we lost the interest or love in something for the horrible monotony.

I know why the caged bird sings
    Personification:
    " the grave of dreams"
All dreams we leave when we cant find an opportunity or somebody cut our wings with bad comments.

I know why the caged bird sing
    Favorite rhyme:
"But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream"
Its a couplet and I consider this little part the best of the poem, when I read it I felt a knot in my throat and I could remember dark moments when I wanted to scream and that shout died in my heart.

    Life doesn't frighten me
The poem with the best theme and message for me is: Life doesn't frighten me. Its a strong poem that show how life can be brutal with all problems or bad situations but that is not enough to destroy or make her feel afraid.

on the back of the wind

  11. 1. The best metaphor.
is the comparison of men to bees in the line “Then they swarm around me, A hive of honey bees”. The skillful use of metaphor here vibrantly describe the scene of men keenly approaching Angelou as she enters the room.

    2. The best personification.
´´The joy in my feet.”, she is saying that her feet are able to feel joy, something that human beings can feel.

    3. My favorite rhyme.
It's in the reach of my arms,
    The span of my hips,
    The stride of my step,
    The curl of my lips.
Because here she describes her beauty.

4.The poem with the best theme and message.
The meaning of the poem Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou is the idea that all women are beautiful and that beauty is found in the way that a woman carries herself. She says that beauty is determined not by whether a woman looks a model, but whether she has her head on her shoulders, confidence, grace and the ability to not let anything bring down her pride. A woman is phenomenal because of these aspects, rather than her physical appearance.

    1. The best metaphor
      1.Still I Rise
      * I'm a black ocean, leapind and wide, for me this is the best metaphor because, makes comparison between a black ocean with a person who has been living in a dark past. And, leaping and wide describe a long-term suffering.

      The best personification
      2-Phenomenal woman
      * I say, it's the fire in my eyes, this line describes the fire as a symbol to show how much power she has.

      My favorite rhyme is
      3- Fire and Ice
      * although, this poem is short I coul find rhyme. there are words with the same sound at the end of each line.

4.The poem with the best theme and message for me is
      * Alone
Because, gave a good message that people need each other all the time. and,we have to value when we can enjoy time with the family and friends. Also says, that millonaire whose money doesn't buy happiness.

  12. 1. The best metaphor.
    * Still I rise.
"I'm a black ocean" in my opinion this can be interpretated as if the author had passed through a difficult situation and she compare herself like a black ocean and the hard situation she might have been passing through.

    2. the best personification.
    * Phenomenal Woman.
“And the joy in my feet.” Here, she is giving her feet the ability to feel joy, when I know that is no possible. She could have done this to keep the tone of the poem constant and uplifting and joyful. It also makes the woman describe in the poem seem more real.

    3. My favorite rhyme.
    * Alone.
''How to find my soul a home
    where water is not thirsty
And bread loaf is not stone
    Icame up with one thing
    And I don't believe I'm wrong...''

    4. The best theme.
    * Life Doesn't Frighten Me.
Life doesn't frighten me at all
    Not at all
    Not at all
Life doesn't frighten me at all.
For the idea for this last stanza is not be afraid of living life, in my case I don't feel afraid of doing things that other people think that they will regret later, because for me life is difficult and If we do not live it there is when we are going to regret.

  13. 1.- The best metaphor,
"The caged bird sing" by Maya Angelou.
When I started to read the poem, I think that Angelou is tell us that our life is inside a cage because we are not free we are living in a freedon life.
But a BIRD that stalks down his narrow cage.
A caged bird is unable to enjoy the freedom of other birds due to its cage, clipped wings, and tied feet. African-Americans during Angelou's time were restricted by unfair laws and societal oppression. Freedom is symbolized by the caged bird's beautiful song. she was a black African woman in this time when she lived was a slaves that is the reason that she wrote a bout FREEDOM.

    2.-The best personification:
    "Equality" by Maya Angelou
'You announce my ways are wanton,
that I fly from man to man
but if I'm just a shadow to you,
    could you ever understand?
I think that she notes that the listener does admit.

3.- My Rhyme "Still I Rise"
Just like moons and like suns,
    with the certainty of tide,
    just like hopes springing high,
    still I'll rise.

4.- The best theme and message.
    "THE PHENOMENAL WOMAN"
for me the est theme is:It's in the reach of my arms
the span of my hips, the stride of my step, the curl of my lips.
this girls wants to be free, she feels like a liberted woman it is free from any norms, she is beauty is even more than skin deep, Angelou said that the woman doesn't have to look like a model to consider herself beautiful and worth looking at.

  14. 1. The best Metaphor.
I know why caged bird sing.
But a BIRD that stalks down his narrow cage / Can seldom see through his bars of rage / His wings are clipped and his feet are tied / So he opens his throat to sing. / The caged bird sings with a fearful trill / Of things unknown but longed for still / And his tune is heard on the distant hill for / The caged bird sings of freedom.
In my opinion this metaphor represents all the desire that the Afro-American people has in order to be free because time ago the black Afro-American people were mistreated and oppressed, they were slaves and they suffered the slavery per many years until the moment they finally can have freedom. I think that A caged bird is unable to enjoy the freedom of other birds due to its cage, clipped wings, and tied feet. they couldn’t do anything to changed that, the only one thing they could do were sing for freedom. African-Americans during Angelou's time were restricted by unfair laws and societal oppression. Freedom is symbolized by the caged bird's beautiful song. As long as the bird is in the cage, he will not reach his true potential. Although the context of the poem is important, one shouldn't limit its application to one group of people or one period.
A caged bird could be any group of oppressed people. It could mean individuals. The cage could represent society, physical barriers, fear, addiction or any self-defeating behavior, with the bird's song representing the true self that longs for something greater in life.

    2. The Best Personification
    Still I Rise
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may shoot me with your words this personification makes me think in racism, that was something that Maya Angelou and all the black folk suffered just because they were Afro-American people, this time the white American people speak very rude and they make feel them like they were nothing, they feel each word like a shoot that hurt them inside of their heart, you may cut me with your eyes, refers to the bad ways in which the white American people looked at them, they looked at them in a dirty way and Contempt.

    3. My favorite Rhyme
    Phenomenal woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
    They think I’m telling lies.

    4. Best theme and message for my life
    Still I Rise

In my opinion all the poems of Maya Angelou has a great and deeper massage, I wasn’t sure to select an specific one but I choose “still I rise”. Theme, I think that in life you will go through many problems, trials and tribulations but you must continue to grow up, do not let anything bring you down, just rise. For instance, “You may have trod me in the very dirt / But still, like dust, I’ll rise.” This quotation expresses how someone can throw you in the dirt and walk all over you, yet, it will not destroy your dignity and you will still rise. As the poem showed we must be rise even all the adversities, for our dignity and respectful.

In my opinion, "Still I Rise" theme is about strength and endurance, and a person's reaction facing a hard life, in addition to what that person is capable of doing despite situation.

  21. 1 METAPHOR

*I know why the caged bird sings*
For me the best metaphor is the poem of “I know why the caged bird sings” because for me all the poem is a metaphor but its theme is a big metaphor, Angelo want to say that a caged bird is unable to enjoy the freedom of other birds due to its cage, clipped wings, and tied feet, a caged bird could be any group of oppressed people.. The cage could represent all the people that want to be free but for different situation they can’t, for example there are many people live caged in a work can be in their own miserable life in a relationship but everybody seek to be happy and free.

    2 PERSONIFICATION

    *Still I rise*
An example is when Angelou writes, “You may cut me with your eyes ” Eyes are just a mere body part that allows us to process light signals into vision, not to cut anything. However, the personification of the eyes in this quotation is significant. When someone supposedly cuts you with their eyes, it simply means they give you a dirty look as though they loathe your very presence.

    3 BEST RHYME

My favorite rhyme: *when I think about myself *
    “When I think about myself,
I almost laugh myself to death,
My life has been one great big joke,
    A dance that’s walked
    A song that’s spoke,
I laugh so hard I almost choke
When I think about myself” it is a couple.

    4 best theme and message

    *Phenomenal woman*
I love this poem because she want to say that is does not care to fit into mould of beauty that popular culture constructs. Despite the absence of a scintillating figure, she draws attention from her male suitors. Surprised by her popularity and her intelligence. I nonchalance, her rejection of stereotype, her supreme air of confidence becomes a mystery which her male suitors cannot demystify I feel identified for that😎💪

  22. 1. For me the poem with the best metaphor is"When I think about myself."
My life has been one great big joke,
    A dance that's walked
    A song that's spoke.
In this poem she's tyring to show us that we should take our life as in a funny way, not all is bad we can learn about our errors and take them with calm
    2. In the poem "Phenomenal woman" I could find the best personification.
"…And the joy in my feet…"
she is giving emotion to a non- human thing in this case the feet.
    3. My favorite rhyme is "Life is fine" by Langston Hughes.
I went dowm to the river,
I set dowm on the bank.
I tried to think but couldn't,
    So I jumped in sank.
    4. The poem with the best theme is "Life doesn't frighten me"
I like this theme because, show me that we do not have to feel afraid for things that are coming. Life always bring something new, things that we do not think possible;but, we do not have to be weak with the adversity of the life.
We have to enjoy and be strong al the time with old and new things.

  23. 1. The best metaphor: “I know why the caged bird sings”
This poem compares a free bird, which stands for all those who are free and a caged bird, representing those who have no freedom at all. Freedom is simbolized by the bird’s song. At last, the cage represents all those situations or people who will not let the caged bird reach his/her true potential… his/her FREEDOM.

    2. Best personification: “Equality”
“Through a glass which will not shine”, meaning that a group of oppressed people (society), believes that they have the right to judge us, or to compare our actions, even though their actions are wrong and with the worst perspective.

    3. Favorite rhyme: “Phenomenal Woman”
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
    They think I’m telling lies.

    4. Best theme and message of the poem “Still I Rise”
Sometimes the harder you fall, the stronger you rise. No matter what, you should continue to stand up with head up high.

This is what life holds; people will talk behind your back, people will try to humiliate you, people will spread whatever rumors about you, when people/ life knocks you down, try to get back up and succeed. People will hate if you are successful, your beauty, if you are right, when you get attention, if your happy, when people support you or when people in their lives like you. People will hate you because you represent something they feel they don’t have. It isn’t really about you. It’s about the hatred they have for themselves. So, keep it up! You are doing something right that has a lot of people thinking about you.

From my point of view, this poem has two themes:
    1. it´s a poem of second chances or
    2. for those inspiring them for not quitting.
    However, it inspires to focus on RISING rather than falling. In brief, I will share this great quote from Vincent Lombardi, that is as inspiring as Maya’s poem;
“The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall.” TRUE THAT!

  24. For me...
Best Metaphor: I know why the caged birds singing.
Represents the caged bird with those who have not freedom.
    Second Stanza:
But a BIRD that stalks down his narrow cage
Can seldom see through his bars of rage
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.

    Best Personification
    Poem "Alone"
first stanza: "Where water is not thirsty".

    My favorite Rhyme:
It's the fire in my eyes,
    ans the flash on teeth,
    yhe swing in my waist,
and the joy in my feet.
    I'm a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,
    that's me.

    Phenomenal Woman:
I really like the way the author describes a woman, especially because she is one.
Through this poem she shows the power and courage a woman might have, not only for her beauty or way to dress but because of what she is.

  25. 1) The best metaphor
    * When I think about myself
"My life has been one great joke,
    A dance that's walked
    A song that's spoke"
I consider this the best metaphor because with it I could understand that sometimes life depends of how we take the proves on it, sadly or bravely with those two things, we will see how we are.

    2) The best personification
    *Equality
"But if I'm just a shadow to you, could you ever understand?"
I think this is the best personification because in this part the author is trying to communicate that there is always someone more important than her at the moment to shine.

    3) The bes rhyme
    *Life doesn't frighten me
    "Shadows on the wall
    Noises down the hall
Life doesn't frighten me at all"
This was the best rhyme for me, because it makes the beginning of the poem attractive, and the first part makes a big impact in the poem that catch the attention of the reader.

    4) The best poem with the best message
    *Alone
I consider this the best poem, because it has a big message for me, it says that it doesn't matter how many money could you get that's not the most important thing in the world, there are more important things than money.

best rhyme : -LIFE DOESNT FRIGHTEN ME AT ALL, NOT AT ALL, NOT AT ALL- (Life doesnt frighten me) : there is always a hope a strengh that makes us feel fierce against all the frustrated situation we live daily even they look frighten to ourselves and we realize that all this situation are called LIFE thats why makes myself get impact with this rhyme.

best represent my life: "STILL I RISE" : there is always people who makes us life difficult even they dont understand what we do to keep living thats why this poem is the one that gives me strengh and represent what I say with my acts to that people that want to look me fallen "I rise" even my pain and my rushs

    Shadows on the wall

    4.The Best poem for me
When I think about myself. I liked this poem because talk about how we have to confront the experiences in life. We have to learn to smile to the bad experiences because we are not perfects. So when we think about aurselves we have to smile to the bad and good experiences.

  28. 1. The best metaphor for me is:
You declare you see me dimly
Through a glass which will not shine,
Though I stand before you boldly,
Trim in rank and making time. (Equality)
This metaphor suggests that while the speaker is seen, they are not necessarily seen entirely, or understood for having been seen. The speaker is seen, but their pose, their behaviourism, their intentions are not.

    2. The best personification for me is:
How to find my soul a home
    Where water is not thirsty
And bread loaf is not stone. (Alone)
Water being wet, cannot desire liquids, and bread is actually not stone, it is bread. On an abstract level, water and bread are representations of the sustenances required for life: food and drink.

    3. My favorite rhyme is:
    I go boo
    Make them shoo
    I make fun
    Way they run
    I won't cry
    So they fly
    I just smile
They go wild. (Life doesn't frighten me)

    4. The poem with the best theme and message for your own life.
For me is "Life doesn't frighten me". I really like this poem because I think that we have to face life without fear at all, we have to think that we are capable of achieving everything that we want in life!!!

    1.- The Best metaphor
“How to find my soul at home”

    Dreams- By Langston Hughes
    2.- The Best personification
    “Hold fast to dreams”
gives us a meaning that Langston Hughes is saying that you should never give up on your hopes and dreams. So the message is to hold on tight to your dreams and never let go.

    Dreams- By Edgar Allan Poe
    3.-My favorite rhyme
I have been happy, tho’ [but] in a dream.
I have been happy—and I love the theme:
Dreams! in their vivid colouring of life
As in that fleeting, shadowy, misty strife
Of semblance with reality which brings
To the delirious eye, more lovely things
Of Paradise and Love—and all our own!
Than young Hope in his sunniest hour hath known.

    4. The poem with the best theme and message for you own life

For my is Phenomenal woman, The poem describes a woman who is proud of being a woman, who is confident, follows her heart, has faith in herself and believes in her inner strength. Such a woman is ‘phenomenally phenomenal.’

2)The Rock Cries Out to Us Today
This poem has many different personification that explain how nature is suffering for our bad action against the same, because everyday people are destroying nature because nature is ours and it is at our disposal. for that reason I choose this part of the poem as the best personification -The rock cries out today- because behind this tittle represent many situation that human do by ingnorance and the nature is trying to show us throuhg signals like the poem says that rocks, the tree and the river are one we are one with the nature because we can not survive without it.

    answer # 3

Alone is my favorite rhyme because if we see it. It has many sound at the end of the verse that repeats and making that the poem has rhyme apart from that also make a better sound and a better understanding.

    answer # 4

to this answer I will choose two poems that that have a good message to my life, one is The rock cries out today because as i interpreted it It tries to make us reflect about how we treat nature and how we treat aech other as humans. and the other one is when I think about myself so this poem really makes me think about myself with a little longing because I have made many thinks that this poems really describes to Maya Angelou I would say that she always takes the possitive parts as sometimes I do it.

  32. BEST METAPHOR: In the poem Phenomenal Woman, Maya writes in the second stanza, “Then they swarm around me/ A hive of honey bees.” It refers to how a swarm of men have huddled around her as she enters the room. This is similar to what a swarm of bees would do to a flower.
BEST PERSONIFICATION: The brakes groaned in protest every time the driver pressed the pedal is an example of personification in the poem I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
FAVORITE RHYME: All poems of Maya are good that´s why I didn´t choose a favorite rhyme.
POEM WITH THE BEST THEME AND MESSAGE: Still I Rise this poem is about resilience and determination when facing oppression.
